Inspired by the Bedouin tribes of the Sahara Desert, Kunal Anil Tanna’s latest collection is a melange of age old tradition and modern aesthetics.

 

The collection personifies the wilderness that surrounds the nomadic community and is a clear reflection of the ethos of the tribe — an exotic blend of the Arab and Turkish culture. The intricate construction and the exaggerated textures of the garments echo the rituals of the tribe. 

 

The silhouettes for the collection are crafted using luxurious silks and chanderi fabrics which have been meticulously sculpted to create innovative pieces for this season. Techniques such as cording, couching, matting and sandwiching have been used for the construction of the garments. The textiles and details seamlessly complement each other, giving way to an exquisite composition. Intense tones of blue, crimson and green mirror their lifestyle.
